Several districts west of Libya have announced holidays for schools on Wednesday and Thursday due to the severe heat wave hitting the region these days.

On Tuesday, the Minister of Education Musa Al-Maqrif granted the education inspectors the discretion to suspend studies; due to high temperatures.

The minister emphasized that the decision to suspend classes comes for the safety of students, but the period should not exceed two days until further directive.

According to the National Center of Meteorology, temperatures will remain high in most parts of western Libya, with a slight decline on Wednesday in the coastal areas.
