The Ministry of Education has expressed deep apologies to the Municipal Council of Tarhuna, the people of the city and its institutions, following an error in the fourth grade Arabic Language textbook, which was regarded by the city’s residents as “offensive”.
The ministry made an official apology for the mistake on the cover of the textbook and confirmed it was unintentional, stressing that everyone is proud of Tarhuna`s role in reconciliation and reunification.
The Municipal Council of Tarhuna has expressed strong concern at what they considered an abuse of the city and its people after a photograph on the cover of Arabic Language in the primary stage depicted an injured girl, referring to her as being “a victim of the misuse of arms”, adding that “she was injured in Tarhuna”.
