Libyan Foreign Minister, Mohamed Sayala discussed with his Italian counterpart, Luigi De Maio, developments on the current political and military situation in Libya.

According to a statement by the Media Office of the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides also discussed over the telephone the recent steps taken by the Government of National Accord (GNA), which included the opening of a center to monitor the flow of illegal immigrants between Libya and Malta, and other procedures to be used in this regard.

The discussions dealt with the possibility of coordination between both countries regarding migration and what role Italy could possibly play in this respect.
