The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, has called for complying with the provisions of his decision to confine dealings only with Ali Al-Hibri as the designated governor of the Central Bank of Libya .

This came in a letter he addressed to Fahi Bashagha, the Attorney General, the Central Bank of Libya, the head of the Administrative Control Authority, the head of the Audit Bureau, and the Minister of Finance.

The move is based on Parliament Resolution No. 17 /2014, which stipulated the dismissal of Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir from the position of Governor of Central Bank, and assigning his deputy, Ali Al-Hibri, to carry out the tasks and work of the governor until a new governor is chosen, according to Saleh.

He stressed that Al-Hibri is the designated governor until unifying the Central Bank is finalized, and approved by the House of Representatives, as he put it.
