The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame confirmed Saturday that the United Nations has no right to interfere in the sovereign decisions of any country.

On the sidelines of the Mediterranean Dialogues Conference in Rome, Salame told "Sputnik" news agency that the UN is already handicapped enough with respect in advancing in the political process.

He expressed his hope that countries involved in the Libyan crisis would take note of the critical stage Libya is passing through and not to undertake initiatives that would hinder a political solution to the crisis.
