The former United Nations envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, said that the three tracks, sponsored by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), appear to be going well and are a promising sign of optimism.

Salame added, during an interview with US-based Al-Hurra channel, that the Libyan people will be able to choose their own new leaders through the elections, due to be held on December 24 of next year, noting that both local militias and several interfering countries in Libya, have reached the conclusion that there is no military solution to the crisis, as he put it.
