Employees of the Sahara Bank staged a protest on Wednesday in front of the bank's HQ, to protest the arrest of Director General of the bank, upon orders of the Attorney General.
The protesters raised banners denouncing the step and demanding transparency in investigations rather than making accusations without firm evidence.
The head of the Audit Bureau Khalid Shakshak had issued a decision to suspend a number of officials of the Sahara Bank, including its chairman and general manager, and referred them to investigations on suspicions of financial embezzlement.
