The Sahara Bank has confirmed the release of its Chairman Mohamed Abukhair and its general manager Abu Bakr Al-Wadani.

"We congratulate ourselves on the release of the Director General of the Bank and the Chairman of the Board of Directors after the truth was revealed by the Libyan judiciary in general, and the Office of the Attorney General," the bank said in a statement Thursday.

The head of the Audit Bureau in Tripoli, Khalid Shakshak, issued on February 13, a decision, to suspend the Chairman of the Board of the Sahara Bank in addition to five other officials at the bank, against the background of allegations regarding their failure to perform their duties, abuse of power, and causing damage to public funds, according to the words of the resolution.
