The Director of Sabha Airport, Mohamed Wahid, announced on Monday that the airport is preparing to operate five flights per week.

 He said in press statements that the airport administration is awaiting the arrival of aviation fuel in order to officially initiate international flights.

He pointed out that the airport will receive flights from Tripoli, Benghazi and various flights by oil companies, adding that the operational, technical and security status at the airport is good and the arrivals and departure halls, along with the rest of the airport facilities, are all functional and prepared to receive international flights, as he put it.
