The Russian Tsargrad TV network has revealed that the leader of the so-called Dignity Operation, Khalifa Haftar, has requested Russian authorities to establish a military base in the city of Benghazi.
The Russian media outlet said that Haftar is already holding talks with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu in this regard, pointing out if this step was approved, the base will allow control of the southern wing of NATO.
Dignity Operation has denied the news, Tsargrad TV said.
"Other countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and South America have expressed their willingness to establish Russian military bases on their territory and to devote their entire infrastructure for Russian flights," Tsargrad TV added.
