The Russian Gazprom energy company expects to increase its oil production in Libya from 43 thousand barrels per day to 61 thousand after resuming its activities in the country this year.

The Russian state news agency TASS quoted the managing director of Gazprom EP International, Sergey Tomanov, as saying that they have successfully resumed oil production in their project in Libya and that ports, export terminals, and production facilities are gradually recovering after a ten-month pause due to the force majeure announced by the NOC on several oil facilities.

Tomanov indicated that they completed an important step in this stage by transforming the field development operator in the Sirte Basin in Zones 91 and 107 to a newly established joint venture with the Libyan National Oil and Gas Company.
