The Vice-Chairman of the Presidential Council, Ahmed Maiteeq, is due to visit Russia to discuss Moscow's participation in the Libyan settlement and pave the way for a possible future visit by the Council's Chairman, Fayez Sarraj.

The head of the Russian contact group on Libyan settlement, Liev Dengov, told Russia Today news website on Wednesday that Maiteeq will begin his journey from Chechnya where he will hold talks with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov.

Dengov explained that talks in the capital of Chechnya will discuss Russian-Libyan relations and Moscow's participation as a mediator in resolving the Libyan crisis politically.
