The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Sunday that losses due to the stoppage of production and exports amounted to 9.8 billion dollars since last January, noting that the period of closure has now reached 240 days.

The NOC appealed to those responsible for the closure to reopen normal procedures at the earliest possible opportunity in order to resume production operations and restart exportation.

Armed groups affiliated with Khalifa Haftar shut the oil fields on January 18 and ceased all exports, after their defeats in the western region during the war on Tripoli.
