The French archaeological mission in Libya has launched a project to restore the National Museum in Tripoli, in cooperation with the University of Potiers and the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas (ALIPH), and in coordination with the embassies of the two countries, in Tripoli and Paris.

This comes as part of Libya's efforts to preserve its antiquities and restore what it lost during the past years of conflicts, as it recently recovered from the United States an artifact that had been stolen from the city of Shahat.
