14 Ukrainian sailors, who were imprisoned in Libya since 2017, having been arrested off the Libyan coast aboard a tanker on charges of being involved in smuggling petroleum products, have been released.
The Ukrainian News Agency, quoted the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as saying that he was pleased with the return of his citizens to their homeland and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the relevant authorities in Ukraine, whose efforts succeeded in securing the release of the sailors from prison in Libya after months of negotiations.
