The 444th Brigade of the Tripoli Military Region announced on Wednesday the liberation of approximately 120 immigrants, being held in one of the dens of human traffickers in Bani Walid, indicating that the majority of those released were of Egyptian nationality.

The 444th Brigade said on its official Facebook page “our forces were capable of releasing a number of hostages in Bani Walid at dawn today, and military forces raided other hideouts of human traffickers, freeing approximately 120 immigrants who were being subjected to torture and were being coerced, according to the captive’s testimonies and the majority of them were of Egyptian nationality”.

The brigade confirmed that the operations were ongoing against what it described as ‘crime hotbeds’, wherever they may be.
