The Undersecretary of the Bureau of Souq al-Jum'aa Municipality, Riyadh Al-Tahir said Saturday that the efforts made by the dignitaries of the districts of Souq al-Jum'aa and Tajoura in solving the crisis of the closure of Al-Shatt Road have shown progress.
In a press statement, Al-Tahir added that they had received a positive response from their counterparts in the Municipality of Tajoura to help release the detainees, praising the role of the Municipality of Tajoura in resolving the crisis, in cooperation with the Reconciliation Commission.
Residents from Souq al-Jum'aa have closed Al-Shatt Road, which links both municipalities, in protest against the detention of several persons from their district in Tajoura last week, which is seen as a tit-for-tat arrest.
