The foreign ministers of Libya, Sudan, Niger, and Chad met Monday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on the sidelines of the African Union (AU) special summit on institutional reform.

The meeting came within the framework of the Quartet, which brings together the neighbouring countries of southern Libya.

"The purpose of the meeting is to emphasize the importance of cooperation and coordination agreed upon between these countries in August last in Khartoum," the Sudanese Foreign Minister, Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed said, noting that it was agreed to hold the next meeting of the Quartet in the Nigerian capital Niamey in December.
