Residents from the city of Zuwara protested against the decision of the Minister of Education to cancel the results of the (GCSE) exams in the literary and scientific sections of the city.

The protesters - mostly high school students - set fire to tires in the streets and raised banners rejecting the minister's decision.

The Minister of Education Othman Abdeljalil issued a decision Tuesday to cancel the GCSE exam results for the students of Zuwara city and to re-sit their exams in the second round.

Pursuant to that resolution, members of the examinations and follow-up and monitoring executive committees of Zuwara Municipality were referred to the Administrative Inquiry.
