The Ministry of Justice has accused the pro-Haftar militia known as "Kaniyat" of kidnapping the judge of the Court of Khoms, Muhammed Bin Amer from Garabulli district, east of Tripoli, on February 27.
A statement issued by the ministry considered the act a blatant contempt of the judiciary in an attempt to undermine the legal system.
A protest took place on Sunday in several justice sector facilities, demanding the unconditional release of the judge, Bin Amer.
Militias of Haftar have kidnapped a number of judges and lawyers in the areas under its control, some of whom were released, while the fate of others remained unknown, including the lawyer, Adnan Al-Arfi in Benghazi and lawyer Salah Al-Tamr in Marj.
