As Chief Commander of the Libyan Army, the Presidential Council's Head Mohammed Menfi and two deputies Abdullah Al-Lafi and Mossa Al-Koni met Sunday with the Prime and Defense Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, Chief of Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, members of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission as well as several military zones' leaders and other military officers.

Menfi's media office said the meeting saw discussions on the latest military developments as well the work of the 5+5 members toward unifying the military institution away from political polarization and in a way that keeps the ceasefire intact as well as the lives of Libyans protected.

Tripoli has been seeing security unrest and on-and-off clashes pushed by political agendas, the most recent of which were Friday night clashes in Al-Gebis neighborhood where an armed group loyal to Osama Juwaili and Fathi Bashagha tried to enter Tripoli by storming a camp for National Mobile Force that is affiliated with the Government of National Unity. The clashes ended after hours following mediation efforts.
