The Presidency of the Congo announced the participation of President Denis Sassou Nguesso in an international conference to try to solve the Libyan crisis, scheduled for November 12 in Paris.

Nguesso, in his official capacity as Chairman of the African Union (AU) High-level Committee on Libya, will participate in the conference on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum, according to the Congolese newspaper Les Echos du Congo, noting his eagerness to find a final peaceful settlement of the crisis in Libya.

“The AU does not object to peace initiatives, rather to what it considered the method of marginalization that shows hidden agendas and interests that precede these initiatives,” the newspaper reported.
