The head of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Emad Sayeh, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Post Company, Tariq Shatshat, signed a memorandum of understanding in Tripoli on Wednesday.

According to HNEC's website, Sayeh stated that the HNEC is very close to begin registering voters abroad, adding that the HNEC is relying on the Libyan Post Company to deliver electoral materials to 27 points of contact outside Libya, including embassies, cultural and electoral centers.

Sayeh indicated that this is the first time that this task is being carried out by efforts of national cadres.

For his part, Shatshat praised the steps being taken and confirmed that the implementation of the upcoming elections by Libyans themselves will be a successful experience, adding that the company will be on time to put its mark on this historic event.
