The United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo welcomed on Wednesday the resumption of United Nations (UN) led talks between the warring parties in Libya, calling for speedy negotiations to reach a ceasefire agreement.
Pompeo said in a press conference that he considered the agreement of both sides to return to the UN-sponsored talks a step in the right direction, adding, “the time has come for all Libyans from every side to take a stand so that Russia or any other country could not intervene and violate Libya’s sovereignty or the path to achieving its goals.”
