Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has ordered the forming of a committee to investigate the procedures and backgrounds that led to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning the so-called CEDAW Agreement between Libya's Minister of State for Women's Affairs and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality.

The committee includes the Minister of Youth, the Director of the Legal Affairs and Complaints Department, and a representative of the Council of Ministers, headed by the Minister of Justice, provided that they submit the outcomes to the Prime Minister within a maximum period of 10 days.

The Minister of State for Women's Affairs, Houria Termal, had signed with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality an MoU to work on the CEDAW agreement, which was met with widespread condemnation in the Libyan street, as the provisions of the agreement violate Islamic law.
