Affiliates of the southwestern branch of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) have voiced their discontent with the deduction of their field allowances.

In a statement, the PFG members considered the decision "unjustified" and lack any official resolution, warning to take further steps and even close all oil fields if their demands are not met.

Recently, the affiliates of the PFG in the western region also threatened to close the Zawiya refinery in the event they were denied their rights to field allowance, while other members in the eastern region went on to close the port of Harika, demanding to pay their salaries that had been suspended for a year.
