Petrofac Limited, a British provider of oilfield services to the international oil and gas industry, stated on Friday that it had signed a 100-million-euro contract with Zallaf Libya, for the exploration and production of oil and gas.

In the statement to MarketWatch, Petrofac added that this agreement aims to offer the first delivery phase of the Zallaf oilfield development project, which includes not only surface equipment, but also the laying of pipelines.

Petrofac’s head of operations stated, “Libya is positioning itself to become a major oil and gas producer once more and we can look forward to assisting the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to achieve its goals in safely developing key infrastructure, in order to reach increased production.”
