The people of the city of Tawergha have called on the Government of National Unity to implement all the articles contained in the Reconciliation Agreement between Misrata and Tawergha, which has been ratified by the Misrata Municipal Council and the Tawergha Local Council since mid-June 2017, in implementation of the pledges made by the government.

In a statement, they pointed out that among the points of agreement: compensation for damage, and compensation for families in terms of their properties, homes and movables, similar to other cities in all parts of Libya.

The people expressed their wish that reconciliation between Misrata and Tawergha would be a model of success for all Libyans because national reconciliation is a basic requirement for nation-building and stability, which is what every Libyan who loves his country aspires to, according to the statement.

The statement also called on the government to implement these demands as soon as possible so that the real basis of national reconciliation does not collapse, and the government does not become a stumbling block in the path of reconciliation.
