Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC) Fayez Al-Sarraj received a congratulatory message from the US President Donald Trump on the 67th anniversary of Libya's Independence Day, which falls on December 24.

"The United States is committed to supporting the Libyan people as they seek to build a realistic and peaceful constitutional process and elections, in accordance with the United Nations political plan," the US president's message read, according to PC's Information office.

Trump stressed that the United States will continue to work with Libya, the United Nations and international partners to reach the goal of a unified and stable Libyan government that has the potential to stand alone against terrorism and provide security and stability for all Libyans.
