Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC) Abdullah Al-Lafi met on Saturday with MPs and components from the west coast municipalities, in the presence of the commander of the West Coast Military Region, to talk over the challenges and security breaches troubling the region.

The meeting touched upon organized crime and other negative phenomena and reviewed solutions to address such issues.

The participants also discussed coordination and unifying efforts between the military, security, and municipal components and proposed practical plans to ensure the safety of citizens and preserve public and private property, according to a statement by the PC media office.

The coastal cities in the western region witness security tensions from time to time, in addition to the illegal immigration activities that take these cities as their starting point.
