The Head of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Menfi has telegrammed Queen Elizabeth II of Britain to mourn the passing of her husband the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip.

"We have received with great sorrow the news of Prince Philip's death, and we offer you, the royal family, and the friendly people of the United Kingdom our sincere condolences and sympathy."

Buckingham Palace announced Friday morning the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99 after he was transferred to the hospital for the deterioration of his state of health.

With 73 years of marriage to Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip becomes the longest-serving royal consort in British history.
