Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj pledged to confront and defeat the forces of Haftar and send them back to where they came from, before engaging in any peace talks.

"We will defeat Haftar, and when the guns are silenced, talks can be resumed," Al-Sarraj said.

Al-Sarraj accused Haftar of using political negotiations as camouflage to cover up his intention to attack Tripoli and seize power, according to the Times newspaper, stressing the need to replace Haftar in any future talks and to hold him accountable for the devastation he caused.
