Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj said that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is fighting a dictator who has illegitimate ambitions and is receiving money and arms from foreign parties striving to achieve narrow interests at the expense of Libya.

In an article published in The Wall Street Journal, Al-Sarraj urged the United States to intervene in order to prevent a civil war that would have global ramifications, indicating that Libya needs US assistance in preventing other countries from interfering in its affairs.

"There is still hope that the US President, Donald Trump, will succeed where former presidents had failed," Al-Sarraj said, emphasizing that the Libyan people will not accept another military dictatorship like Gaddafi, as he put it.
