Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, reaffirmed Thursday his rejection to a cessation in hostilities in the suburbs of Tripoli before the withdrawal of the aggressor forces.

This came during a meeting with the head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame and his deputy for political affairs, Stephanie Williams.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the capital and the efforts of the United Nations to curb the escalation and resume a political process.

For his part, Salame stressed his full rejection of any attack on civilians and civilian installations, saying it constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
