Spokesperson for the Presidential Council (PC), Najwa Wahiba, has stated that the PC head, Mohammed Menfi, raised during his meetings with the leaders of the active countries in New York, what she called “the new ideas for parliamentary and presidential elections”.

“PC head put forward these ideas due to the failure of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State to reach a consensus on a constitutional basis according to specific timetables, and its negative impact on the political situation and stability in the country”, Wahiba added.

She also indicated that Menfi called to take economic measures related to controlling public money, keeping it away from political strife and ensuring that it reaches its beneficiaries without political or geographical discrimination.
