The Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, issued a decision in his capacity as “the Supreme Commander of the Army” as per the political agreement, to form a joint operations room to follow up the situation in Tripoli.

Al-Sarraj appointed Major General Hussein Ramadan to head the operations room, which includes eight other members.

According to the decision, the joint operations room is to follow up the events and battles taking place in Tripoli and propose measures to prevent any attack that could pose a threat to the security of the capital and the lives of people.

It will also be tasked to determine the number of dead, wounded and missing persons, in addition to any other duties assigned to them by “the Supreme Commander of the Army.”
