Member of the Presidential Council (PC) Ahmed Maiteeq clarified Monday, that the decision regarding the termination of subsidies on fuel and the mechanisms of the implementation process will be announced on November next.
In a press statement, Maiteeq confirmed that the fuel subsidies will be eliminated in a maximum of two or three years, pointing out that the citizens will buy the goods at their actual value in the global market without any support from the state.
He added that the current policies are proceeding on a clear and steady approach towards eliminating the subsidies on petroleum products in full, noting that fuel prices will be increased in two or three batches.
