The Minister of Economy and Industry Ali Al-Issawi confirmed that the participants at the Palermo Conference and in particular the international economic institutions, stressed their rejection for re-printing the Libyan currency through parallel institutions, especially after the negative impact it had on the Libyan economy, most notably, the exchange rate.

Al-Issawi explained in a press statement that they have discussed in Palermo the modification of the exchange rate and the reforming of the government support system, including fuel subsidies, and the integration of young people in the national economy.
