The head of Nidaa "Call" Society for Libyan Immigrants Relief in Italy, Radhwan Al-Maghrabi revealed that around 50 young men are languishing in different Italian prisons and some are facing the most severe penalties in Italian law.

"Some young people were arrested on arrival in Italy and were unfairly accused of human trafficking," Al-Maghrabi said in a TV statement, adding that others were arrested on the background of criminal cases.

Al-Maghrabi called on the Libyan authorities to take swift action and follow-up the files of the Libyan citizens detained in Sicily.
