The number of the deaths following the explosion of a fuel tank truck in Bent Beya area in south Libya has risen to 15 after a seriously injured person has died in Hospital 1200 in Benghazi.

A fuel tank truck exploded on August 01, leaving deaths (15 so far) and injuries (over 100) in the south Libyan town of Bent Baya.

After the incident, the Libyan Government of National Unity, Health Ministry and other relevant authorities responded to the distress call of the town, sending air ambulance to take the injured persons to different hospitals in Tripoli and Benghazi.

The Libyan Government of National Unity also began sending seriously-injured persons abroad – to Italy, Spain and Tunisia – to receive medical treatment for the burns suffered in the explosion.
