The US ambassador and special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, expressed Washington's hope that all Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) members will find consensus on behalf of the Libyan people.

The US embassy has been reaching out to a wide range of participants to discuss the historic responsibility they hold to advance the political process by reaching a timely consensus on a constitutional basis for elections on December 24.

"The LPDF has a key role to play, particularly if the House of Representatives is unable to adopt the recommendations it receives from the LPDF. As part of this effort, and in my added capacity as US Special Envoy, I met with LPDF members Ziad Dughaim and Abd Al-Majeed Maliqta, and spoke earlier this week with Belgassem Nimr and Lamees Ben Saad.
