The time had come to put in place the constitutional and legal framework so that elections can be held in Libya next December, the US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland said during his meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in Rabat yesterday.

The two sides touched upon various issues, concentrating on matters related to the planned elections scheduled for the end of this year.

Norland praised Morocco’s role in supporting the political dialogue in Libya and its efforts to bring together disputing parties to compromise on the challenging issues before them, in the interests of the Libyan people, according to the US Embassy in Libya.
