Members of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) welcomed the UN Security Council decision issued Wednesday, of including the former commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guards, Ibrahim al-Jodhran to the list of international sanctions.

The NOC considered, in a statement, the decision as a response to the repeated calls from its side and the joint efforts with the Office of the Attorney General and the rest of the relevant authorities to punish Ibrahim Al-Jodhran.

The statement added that Al-Jodhran caused the Libyan state many lives and more than $ 60 billion, by closing the oil ports in the Gulf of Sirte during the period from 2013 to 2016, pointing out that his irresponsible and unlawful acts since 2011 led to the destabilization of Libyan institutions and increased the suffering of the Libyan people.
