Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah has said that Libya could increase the production of natural gas by up to 50% if the required investments are available, and the security situation allows.

This came during the NOC's participation in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held in Moscow last week.

Sanallah explained that Libya's current gas production stands at three billion cubic feet, indicating that the NOC could also save more than $ 1.5 billion a year by using gas as a primary fuel for power generation instead of liquid fuel.
