The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said it was following closely all the ongoing preparations at the Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Complex to renovate the ethylene and polyethylene plants and start production in the coming period.
In a statement, the NOC clarified that board member, Jadallah Al-Awakali, held a meeting with officials of Ras Lanuf Company to discuss the work that had been carried out at the complex during the last period in terms of maintenance work, installation, and supply of equipment, in addition to the outlines of the forthcoming work in the near future and the proposed operational budgets.
The ethylene plant has been inactive since 2011, while the polyethylene plant was halted in 2013.
