The National Oil Corporation (NOC) disclosed that production at Sharara oilfield is increasing gradually, stating that the field is currently pumping around 135 thousand barrels of crude oil per day.

A source from the NOC told Reuters that the field, which has a capacity of 315 thousand barrels per day, has not yet reached its full operational capacity, because of technical and labour difficulties.

The NOC declared two days ago the lifting of the status of force majeure on the field, after receiving assurances on the evacuation of the group responsible for the field's closure from the site.
