The National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Brega Oil Marketing Company announced on Sunday the launch of a campaign to deliver fuel to the south and prevent its smuggling.

The campaign will provide 3.5 million litres of gasoline, 1.2 million litres of diesel and 80 tonnes of cooking gas, to the municipalities in the south, NOC explained on Facebook, clarifying that the fuel convoy will start-up next Tuesday heading to Sabha, in order to distribute fuel to the main stations in the south.

Last week, a Movement calls itself The Fezzan Rage, shut down the oil fields of Sharara and El Feel, to protest the poor living conditions in the south.
