The National Oil Corporation (NOC) held an emergency meeting at Zawya Oil Refining Company, following the explosion of a suspicious object near the company's HQ, last Monday.

"A series of measures were taken, including opening an official investigation, developing security procedures, establishing a joint security operations room, and the updating of monitoring, technology and communications protocols," the NOC said.

The NOC expressed its satisfaction that none of its employees was injured during the blast.

It also condemned attempts to intimidate oil workers and endanger their lives, stressing that it will resort to all available legal means to prosecute those responsible for this attack.
