The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and to spare oil facilities the armed clashes, after a shell fell in the yard of Brega Company.

"A shell fell in the yard of Brega Company's warehouse, located in the Airport Road and was close to hitting the gas filling units, which could have easily spelled disaster," NOC stated Tuesday.

It also commended the work of the company's firefighters team and said they were masters in damage control, quoting its president Mustafa Sanallah as saying that "such shells may have caused a true disaster", "Without the courage and experience of those firefighters, the fire would have reached hundreds of full gas cylinders that were ready for distribution," NOC head stressed.
