The Interior Ministry confirmed in a statement Sunday that no weapons were found aboard the Iranian ship that had been seized at Misrata Port, adding that the security services inspected the shipload consisting of 114 containers after obtaining permission from the Public Prosecutor.

The cargo was shipped from the ports of Latakia, Jebel Ali, and Bandar Abbas, according to the statement.

Media sources loyal to warlord Khalifa Haftar claimed that the Iranian ship that arrived at Misrata Port was carrying weapons and ammunition to the Government of National Accord.
